Welcome to GeNet

GeNetTM is a web database designed to distribute and visualize gene expression data from microarrays, Affymetrix chips, and related technologies. It allows researchers to publish raw text data, images, annotations, or the results of analyses in any file format.

GeNet also allows researchers to do the following:

GeNet can generate magnifiable and selectable images including:

GeNet can also generate reports, including experiment reports and gene list reports.

GeNet was designed to work seamlessly with GeneSpring. All of the visualization features are derived from GeneSpring, the most comprehensive visualization and analysis program for gene expression experiments. For more information about GeneSpring, see the GeneSpring User Manual on the Silicon Genetics website.

Your data and analysis results are secure, because only authorized users and groups are granted access by the administrator.

For greater security, GeNet can be installed on your local intranet to allow scientists to distribute and visualize proprietary gene expression data solely at their institution. The central repository for data makes it much easier to collaborate and ensures data is never lost or misplaced. Users can easily retrieve and examine data within GeneSpring or with a web browser. Types of storable data include text, image data, GeneSpring reports, as well as many other data objects.

Locally or on the World Wide Web, GeNet's unique abilities allow scientists working with any organism to internally distribute and visualize gene expression data from microarrays, Affymetrix chips, and related technologies. With GeNet, researchers can publish both experimental data and analyses on the Web or an intranet in a common format viewable by other scientists via any web browser. Publishing is as easy as a right-click from within GeneSpring. After an experiment has been published on GeNet, anyone with established permissions, a correct URL and a web browser can view the published experiments. If you are a GeneSpring user, you can link to GeNet from within GeneSpring, enabling you to leverage the knowledge from the saved experiments in combination with your own. If you are not a GeneSpring user you can still download reports, experiment files, lists and other information viewable in your web browser.

People interested in publishing their data to the GeNet database maintained by Silicon Genetics should contact Silicon Genetics at info@sigenetics.com.
