Publishing Lists and Other Data to GeNet

To publish data from GeneSpring to GeNet:

  1. Right-click over the list, tree, classification, experiment, or other data object in the navigator. To publish an entire folder, right-click over the folder just as you would any data object.
Note: You can only publish data about genomes that are already present on GeNet.
  1. Select Publish to GeNet from the pop-up menu. A new upload box appears.
  2. Fill in the following information:
      • Your email address (GeNet attempts to guess the correct value for this field and automatically fills it. If you are not working on your usual computer, you must type in the correct address.)
      • You will need to add your GeNet user ID
      • Your GeNet password
      • The destination directory for the data you are uploading. The default directory is the one specified for you in "Creating a User ID" on page 2-4. To publish to a different directory, enter its name in place of the default directory.
  3. Click the Upload button.
A window appears to notify you whether the upload was successful. If there was an error, details appear in this window.
