Publishing a Genome to GeNet

You must have administrator access to publish a new genome:

1. In GeneSpring, select File > Publish Genome to GeNet.
2. Enter your user ID and password if necessary.
3. Click Upload.

If you are publishing a genome that already exists on GeNet, you must select the Update Existing Genome checkbox under your password. This field is always unselected by default.

When you update an existing genome, GeNet does the following:

• adds new genes to the genome
• changes annotations on existing genes
• changes the lists of hypertext links for genes and experiments

However, GeNet does not remove genes from the genome, since there might be gene lists, experiments, and other data involving those genes.
